ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Greater Manchester Waste Ltd (GMW) is committed to improving environmental performance and consideration of the environment in all areas of operations. In order to achieve this aim, it is the policy of GMW to:

  1. Measure and commit to continually improving our environmental performance.
  2. Encourage minimising, re-using, recycling and gaining value from wastes.
  3. Maintain compliance with legislation.
  4. Work proactively with relevant statutory bodies
  5. Establish and maintain an environmental management system to BS EN ISO 14001.
  6. Set and review objectives and targets in order to improve environmental performance and go beyond legal requirements where possible.
  7. Implement practices that will prevent or minimise environmental pollution from our activities.
  8. Consider during our business planning processes the environmental impact of all future projects.
  9. Minimise the consumption of resources where possible.
  10. Minimise the environmental impact of our activities on the neighbourhood, by controlling air emissions, noise and litter.
  11. Minimise the environmental impact of GMW transport operations.
  12. Promote environmental awareness amongst all our stakeholders, staff, customers and suppliers.
  13. Consider the environment when procuring goods and services.
