Training Centre and WAMITAB Assessment
Greater Manchester Waste Limited has been
awarded the accolade of 'Investor in People' for its commitment
to provision of training and personal development opportunities
for all members of its staff. GMW proudly continues to train
all engineering craft apprentices under the 'Modern Apprentice
Scheme'.
GMW has a facility for training and assessment towards WAMITAB
awards, for both internal and external candidates. The extensive
experience and in depth knowledge of the company's assessors
and training officer have lead to the qualification of many
operational staff.
The self contained Training Centre, in the grounds of the company
head office site at Bolton, is fully equipped to create an ideal
training environment. With capacity for up to 100 people, the
facility also has the provision of using the workshop area for
practical aspects of training.
The GMW Visitor Centre has an interactive learning experience,
designed to explain the processes employed by the company. A
projector room is able to show video materials, computer presentations
and demonstrate virtual reality simulations.
Each of the two seminar/classrooms located
on the upper floor will comfortably seat 35 pupils/visitors
(per room). These rooms are intended to be used as a resource
by providing an ideal setting for waste management, environmental
or sustainable power generation based workshops. A member of
teaching staff will be on site to run any classes, ensuring
that national curriculum subjects are covered and relate practically
back to aspects of the visit.
PLEASE NOTE: THE VISITOR CENTRE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED
