| Visitor Centre
GMW has established 'The Waste Experience', a visitor centre which explains the issues surrounding waste management and the environment. Based around the 3R's ( Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ), the centre introduces visitors of all ages to these important concepts.
A series of interactive exhibits has been installed to highlight the importance of waste management, methods used in handling the waste and the problems caused by the increasing amount of waste being generated.
A large auditorium is used for audio visual presentations and seminars. Visitors to the centre are invited to watch a video introduction to GMW which explains waste management issues in the region. We also have films on recycling, waste minimization as well as presentations especially for a younger audience.
'The Waste Experience' is available to visit by appointment only. Ideally suited to Schools, Colleges, Institutes of Higher Education and Community Groups.
Visits can be arranged for groups of between 10 and 35 people. Visits normally last one hour. Where appropriate we can tie in a visit to our adjoining plant.
Two classrooms are available on the first floor, designed to be used as a community resource for project work related to waste and the environment. GMW actively promote waste education and the Education officer can organize a series of workshops, including making junk monsters and waste segregation to encourage recycling and waste awareness. PLEASE NOTE: THE VISITOR CENTRE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED
